My name is Scott Matteson. I am an Assistant Professor in the Human Development and Family Studies department. I have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree both in Business Administration – both from Northwood University. In addition, I have a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Educational Technology from the University of South Carolina. My primary research is based around how technology influences and enhances student engagement. Previous to this position, I worked as a Foreclosure Counselor before turning my interest toward the financial industry spending a brief time as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments and then becoming a HAMP Specialist/Collector in the banking industry. Prior to that I spent 11 years in the Manufacturing field as an Estimator. I have worked for this amazing university for just over 7 years now and absolutely love it! For fun – I enjoy gaming, both board and video (PS5), and spending time with my family (Connie) our three kids and our four wonderful and beautiful granddaughters. I am a fan of tattoos (I have nine of them). I am also a HUGE sports fan, especially MSU sports!! Go Green!
