Tsveta Sendova

Tsveta Sendova was born and grew up in Sofia, Bulgaria. After graduating with a B.S. in Mathematics from Sofia University in 2002, she moved to College Station, Texas to pursue graduate studies in Mathematics at Texas A&M University, where she worked on nonlinear theory of elasticity and mathematical models of brittle fracture. After completing her Ph.D., she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota for a postdoctoral position at the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications. From 2010 to 2013 Tsveta was an assistant professor at Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina, a small (only about 700 students), private, historically Black liberal arts college for women, where she fell in love with teaching. Tsveta joined the Mathematics Department at Michigan State University in 2013. She teaches a variety of classes, both at the gateway and advanced undergraduate level. In addition to teaching, Tsveta spends her time as an advisor for the Advanced Track Mathematics Program, co-coordinator for the Center for Instructional Mentoring, and director of the Math Learning Center. In her free time, Tsveta enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, and  biking. She loves traveling and spending time with friends.
