Kathy Forrest, MSN, MA, RN

Kathy Forrest is an Instructor and Coordinator of Professional Programs in the College of Nursing at Michigan State University. She is responsible for all continuing education offerings provided by the College of Nursing including annual conferences; online learning modules and programs; and workshops to support nurses’ needs. Kathy has over thirty five years of experience in nursing and has been actively engaged in clinical practice operations and in nursing education over this period. In 2001, Ms. Forrest came to MSU to manage clinical operations in the College of Nursing practice sites. Her role evolved into the area of continuing education and teaching, and she became a faculty member in the undergraduate nursing program in 2011. Teaching assignments include courses of both the traditional baccalaureate and RN-BSN programs. She has professional interests in the use of online learning strategies, simulation, and interprofessional education to advance nursing education and enhance student learning in an ever changing healthcare environment.

Ms Forrest earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Lansing Community College, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from University of Michigan, a Master of Arts in Management from Spring Arbor University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University.
