Jeremy Francis is a Clinical Professor of Law and Writing Specialist in the MSU College of Law. He teaches a popular first-year writing seminar and leads writing workshops for several organizations, including the Michigan State Law Review, The Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute, MSU legal clinics, and other organizations. His research focuses on legal language and rhetoric and improving student outcomes in law school. He co-authored four Legal Writing textbooks and has published multiple articles in the fields of legal education, legal writing, and critical literary theory. Professor Francis was recently re-elected as Chair of the MSU College of Law Faculty Advisory Council (FAC) and is in his second term as Chair of the Association of Legal Writing Specialists.
Dr. Francis is honored to have been selected for the AAN Leadership Fellowship program. He will work with his AAN mentor, Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs Kristine L. Bowman of the College of Education. Dr. Francis will use his fellowship to develop his leadership skills and gain a better understanding of how administration supports the mission of Michigan State University.
